Most people don't think about their gutter drain lines until water is pooling somewhere it shouldn't be. By then, the problem has usually been building for a while. Leaves, pine needles, moss, and debris don't just sit in your gutters - they travel down into the drain lines below and pack in tight over time.

That's exactly the kind of situation we see a lot in the Pacific Northwest. West Linn gets plenty of rain and plenty of tree cover, which is a combination that keeps drain lines working overtime. When those lines get sluggish or fully blocked, water has nowhere to go. It backs up, it sits, and it starts causing real damage.

The tricky part is that gutter drain lines are mostly out of sight. You might notice your gutters overflowing or water pooling near your foundation, but the actual clog could be several feet underground. That's why we don't just clear what we can see - we make sure the line is actually flowing before we call it done.

If your gutters seem fine but water isn't moving the way it should, the issue is often in the drain line itself. Slow drainage is usually the first sign. Don't wait for it to get worse. A blocked drain line is a much easier fix when it's caught early rather than after water has already found its way somewhere it shouldn't be.

We handle clogged gutter drain lines regularly, and we know what to look for. If something seems off with how your gutters are draining, it's worth getting eyes on it sooner rather than later.
